In this video, we explore the fascinating concept of composite functions, also known as function composition.
Let's consider two functions: f: A → B and g: B → C. The composite function of g and f, denoted as g ∘ f, is a new function defined as follows:
(g ∘ f)(x) = g(f(x))
In simpler terms, the composite function g ∘ f takes an input x from the domain of f (A), applies the function f to it, and then applies the function g to the output of f. The result is an output in the codomain of g (C).
By the end of this video, you will have a solid understanding of the properties, applications, and significance of composite functions in discrete mathematics.
