November 23rd is the most joyful day of the year for each and every Sai devotee across the globe, for it is on this day that the Lord of the Universe descended on earth for our sake. Since 1946, Swami's birthday has been celebrated in His immediate Divine Presence at Prasanthi Nilayam with great gala and grandeur. Although the methodology of celebration may have changed over the decades, the ceaseless flow of bliss emanating from every birthday festival remains the same. This rare video shows glimpses of Swami's 39th birthday celebrations way back in 1964. We see Swami, clad in a silk red robe and donning a golden shawl, entering the hall in procession, and allowing devotees to anoint His hair with the sacred oil. Swami then blesses each and every devotee seated in the hall with the opportunity of offering a garland to Him and taking namaskar. Such golden days! The video ends showing Swami swinging on a majestically decorated floral Jhoola while delivering His Divine Birthday Discourse. Whether we were present in those days or not, these are moments to cherish in our hearts forever!
