The death of Baldr, the beloved god of light and purity, marked the beginning of sorrow for all the Nine Realms.
When the blind god Höðr, deceived by Loki, cast the mistletoe dart that pierced Baldr’s heart, the heavens fell silent. The Æsir wept, Hel’s gates opened, and all beings mourned the loss of light itself.
This song is a Viking funeral lament, performed with ancient Norse vocals and deep ritual drums. The wailing female lead symbolizes Frigg’s mourning, while the low male drones echo the voices of gods and men united in grief.
