In this video, Secret Ingredient will show you how to cook Piaparan a Odang. It's an authentic Meranaw dish.
Meranaws are known for their use of 'Palapa', it's a pounded "sakurab", ginger and chili. Palapa is the cornerstone of Meranaw cooking.
Sakurab is a locally-grown spice which has unique aroma, it's similar to white scallion but with a thinner leaf and distinct flavor.
Q: How can I cook Piaparan a Odang if I don't have Sakurab?
A: You can still cook this recipe even without Sakurab. Use white scallion or spring onion as a substitute albeit the overall taste would not be the same but it could still be as delicious. :)
