The cruise ship Marella Discovery made another visit to Volos this morning, bringing with it a wave of international tourists eager to explore the region. While many of the visitors embarked on organized excursions to the picturesque villages of Portaria and Makrinitsa in Pelion, some chose to stay and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Volos.

Our walk begins at the lively Anavros Beach, a popular spot where visitors soaked up the sun, took refreshing swims, and relaxed on sunbeds or at the tables of the beachside bar-restaurants Almpyra, Anamma, and Avra. The area was bustling with activity, as tourists enjoyed the serene coastal views, cool sea breeze, and delicious local cuisine.

From Anavros, we stroll through the lush Anavros Park, passing by the Agios Konstantinos area and its charming park. This part of Volos offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and urban vibrancy, with its well-maintained green spaces and historical landmarks providing a peaceful retreat within the city.

Continuing along the Volos promenade and marina, we observe the elegant yachts and boats docked along the waterfront. The marina, with its picturesque setting, serves as a gateway to the Aegean Sea and a hub of activity where visitors can take leisurely walks or dine at the seaside cafes and restaurants.

As we venture into the city center, we arrive at Ermou Street, the main shopping area of Volos. Despite it being the middle of August, when many locals are away on their summer holidays and several shops are closed, the street still exudes a quiet charm. The few open stores offered a variety of goods, from fashion to souvenirs, providing visitors with a taste of local shopping culture.
