This is a highway very close to the center of the capital of Greece, Athens, connecting many areas, from the few HPS lights on the highways where 250-400W are usually used, as on this particular highway with Philips SRP 826 street light fixtures, fortunately they still exist, as most have been upgraded to LED street light fixtures, where some of them have problems in the first 2-3 years and are more difficult and time-consuming to replace, but maybe in maintenance they will be a little less time-consuming, but if it happens after a few years in LEDs the maintenance will be difficult, time-consuming and expensive compared to the old HPS street light fixtures where the lamp lasted 8-12 years and the ballast almost never burned out and the igniter and capacitor also lasted for years, but the capacitor and igniter must be changed in advance together with the lamp, so that the capacitor offers better power factor, where with use usually after 10-15 years it starts to break down and the igniter also breaks down after thousands of ignitions of 2-3Kv in the lamp for lighting the lamp and in general the components are separate! The wonderful golden glow of HPS lamps is really beautiful and more relaxing for driving at night, you feel a sense of calm and comfort but at the same time safety because in case of dense fog generally yellow and orange light, but mainly yellow light has the ability to penetrate the fog, therefore yellow light is more visible compared to white light, white light is worse in fog, which creates worse conditions resulting in the fog shining even more densely! Unfortunately, slowly HPS lamps are becoming less and less common
