Qianmen Street is a famous commercial street in Dongcheng District, Beijing, located on the central axis of the capital city. It starts from Qianmen Moon Bay in the north and ends at the intersection of Tianqiao Road in the south, connecting with Tianqiao South Street. This street has a long history, dating back to the 29th year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1550), when it was the imperial route for the emperor to go out of the city to the Temple of Heaven and the Temple of Mountains and Rivers. Qianmen Street has a total length of 845 meters and a lane width of 20 meters. It is one of the largest ancient city protection areas in Beijing and the only planned commercial district around Tiananmen Square. ‌
Qianmen Street is not only the commercial center of Beijing, but also carries rich historical and cultural heritage. This was once a necessary route for emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties to worship the heavens, known as the "Imperial Road and Heavenly Street". There are many Chinese time-honored brands preserved on the streets, such as Quanjude, Liubiju, Tongrentang, etc. These time-honored brands have witnessed the prosperity and development of Beijing's commerce. Nowadays, Qianmen Street has developed into a "National Goods Street" that combines tradition and modernity. It not only has century old stores, but also many emerging domestic and internet famous brands.
In addition, Qianmen Street has a superior geographical location, adjacent to Tiananmen Square, and is one of the must visit tourist attractions. The buildings on the streets mainly reflect the ancient capital style, restoring the architectural style of the 1920s and 1930s and reproducing the traditional charm of old Beijing. Tourists can find memories of ancient Beijing here, experience transportation such as trams, and feel the charm of old Beijing.



‌‌前门大街是北京市‌东城区的一条著名商业街，位于京城中轴线上，北起前门月亮湾，南至‌天桥路口，与‌天桥南大街相连。‌这条大街具有悠久的历史，最早可以追溯到明嘉靖二十九年（1550年），当时它是皇帝出城赴‌天坛、‌山川坛的御路。前门大街全长845米，行车道宽20米，是北京最大的古城保护区之一，也是‌天安门广场周边唯一规划的商业街区。‌
前门大街不仅是北京的商业中心，还承载了丰富的历史文化。这里曾是明清两代皇帝祭天的必经之路，有着“御路天街”之称。大街上保留了许多中华老字号，如‌全聚德、‌六必居、‌同仁堂等，这些老字号见证了北京商业的繁荣与发展。如今的前门大街已经发展成为一条融合了传统与现代的“国货大街”，这里不仅有百年老店，还有许多新兴的国货与网红品牌。
此外，前门大街的地理位置优越，紧邻天安门广场，是游客必访的景点之一。大街上的建筑主要体现古都风貌，恢复了上世纪二、三十年代的建筑风格，重现了老北京的传统韵味。游客可以在这里找到古老北京的记忆，体验到有轨电车等交通工具，感受老北京的风情。
