Hello all,
Welcome to a Victorian heritage video. Today we find ourselves on the Geelong line once again, where two specials roll down the line on a gorgeous Spring day. We begin with DERMPAV who made a return for the first time in 2025 with the Geelong Sidings Tour, where passengers have a chance to travel through Wyndham Vale and North Geelong yards while on a loop to Waurn Ponds. Steamrail Victoria also made their presence known with their first weekender in six years. Locomotives R711 and N453 took charge, travelling down the RRL then via the freight line to Ballarat. From there, it was onward to Wycheproof.
We start off our video at La Trobe Street, capturing the DERM, then move our attention to the Steamrail special. The rest of the video covers the operations of the DERMPAV tour, finishing off with a clip of N453 hauling the weekender back through Deer Park. This took place on the following day, after R711 had to be detached due to a boiler issue.

DERMPAV is one of Victoria's main line heritage operators. They focus on operations with Victorian Railway DERM rail motors that date back from 1928. Their flagship, RM58, is used on tours around Victoria. They are also currently restoring a fleet of buses.
