World leaders have criticised Russian president Vladimir Putin for sending a “low-level” team to peace talks in Turkey, where European ministers and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky have gathered in hopes of a meaningful breakthrough.
Mr Putin sending juniors aides and deputy ministers to Turkey was "like a slap in the face”, Estonian foreign minister Margus Tsahkna said this morning, while Latvian foreign minister Baiba Braze said she does not see any indications that Russia wants peace in Ukraine.
