Today, we have one of our best and favorite custom restorations for you. This is a 1961 Tonka Stepside Pickup, also known as Model #28. We found this old toy within a lot at an antique store a couple months back. It took us quite a while to accumulate all the missing parts for this toy, but we started it as soon as we had everything. We always planned on making it one of the few larger completely custom builds for the channel, and when Prismatic Powders decided to help out the channel, we knew that this deep, metallic, and color shifting Purple had to go on the truck.
Some interesting facts about the model being featured in this video. The body style is and grill is based off the 1958-1959 Ford F100 Stepside Pickup. It came with a unique color matched stake trailer, with matching tires and hubcaps, that hauled a white polystyrene sheep. In 1961, you could either buy the model individually as No. 28, or buy it in the farm bundle as No. B-204 in the tonka catalog.
Hopefully this inspires you to give these beat up and rusty toys a second chance, even if they don't return to their factory spec! Feel free to sit back, relax, and join us as this old pickup gets a complete Hot Rod inspired restoration.
We also wanted to give a special shoutout to Cerakote and Prismatic Powders for helping out the channel and providing us with some great products. We have been using Cerakote way before we decided to post our restorations on Youtube. They truly have a superb product that works on everything from automotive trim, all the way to the windows and tires on our toys.
Prismatic Powders also has some of the coolest colors, and most durable powdercoats on the market. There is a suitable color for just about every project that you could do. Make sure to check out their products in the links below!

Let us know what you all think, should we do more of these 1960s Tonka models on this channel? Maybe do some custom LED lighting on it? Possibly something other than toys?
Hope you guys enjoyed the video; Please leave a like and subscribe. Give us some ideas for future projects, and with enough support we will continue to make content that you like.
Most Importantly,
With Respect, Honor, and Gratitude... Thank You to all our Veterans and Active Duty Members!
