“As I Grow… I Need More Sleep 😴”

This video captures a peaceful moment in the daily life of a baby African Spotted Eagle Owl. As the owlet grows, it begins to relax more comfortably inside the nest, sometimes even falling asleep right on the edge. In today’s recording, you’ll see the owlet slowly drifting into a deeper sleep, its head sinking gently into the nest while its little beak remains visible.

These moments show the natural behaviour and development of owl chicks as they become stronger, more relaxed, and more aware of their surroundings.

This is part of my ongoing documentation of a wild Spotted Eagle Owl family living naturally in my garden in Johannesburg, South Africa. All footage is recorded respectfully without feeding or interference.
