This week, we're rolling into Skagway, Alaska — chasing that elusive small-town charm. But with cruise ships lining the docks and tourists flooding the streets, we quickly realize: this isn’t the Skagway we expected.

Overwhelmed by the crowds, we do what vanlifers do best — we head for the hills. Away from town, we discover a remote, off-grid campsite on a secluded Alaskan inlet, far from the noise and close to the wild.

From there, it’s a cross-border journey into Canada, chasing peace and quiet beside a turquoise lake that feels like it’s all ours. It's the kind of spot that reminds us why we chose life on the road — for the freedom, the connection to nature, and the unexpected turns along the way.
