Skinless Cumberland Sausages with Homemade Macaroni Pie - Easy Family Dinner Ideas
In this video, I’m making skinless Cumberland sausages alongside a creamy, cheesy macaroni pie made from scratch.
My kids aren’t fans of sausage skins, so I peel them off before cooking – it makes the sausages softer and easier for little ones to enjoy. Everything bakes on the same tray, making this a simple one-pan wonder.
Here’s what you’ll need:
For the Cumberland sausages
1 pack Tesco Cumberland sausages (8 in a pack)
Parchment paper & cooking olive oil spray
For the Macaroni Pie
500g macaroni pasta
80g cream cheese
200ml whole milk (add more if dry)
125g mature cheddar cheese, grated
5g Knorr vegetable stock pot
5g unsalted butter (or your choice)
Pinch of salt
½ tsp garlic purée
100g Tesco Four Cheese mix (or your favourite cheese blend)
Method:
Prep the sausages: Peel the skins off each sausage and place them on one side of a lined baking tray.
Cook the pasta: Boil macaroni in salted water for 8–10 mins, drain, then stir in butter, salt, and garlic purée.
Make it creamy: Add vegetable stock pot, cream cheese, and milk. Mix well.
Layer it up: Grease a casserole dish, layer pasta with grated cheddar cheese in thirds.
Top & bake: Sprinkle the four cheese mix on top, spray lightly with olive oil.
Bake everything together: Place the casserole dish on one side of the oven tray, sausages on the other. Bake at 170°C fan for 20 mins.
Serve hot & enjoy!
Perfect for busy weeknights, this recipe is all about simple ingredients, maximum flavour, and minimal fuss.
