Summit Wildcamp | Fleetwith Pike & Haystacks | Lake District

Great to get back out in the Lakes for this hike and wild camp with the Mrs...needed this one. Starting from Gatesgarth car park, we ascended the straight up Fleetwith Edge to reach the summit of Fleetwith Pike, standing tall at 648 meters (2,126 feet) . Shelter of choice for this one was the trusty Abisko Lite 3 tent, pitched just below the summit with awesome views.

The next day on route to Haystacks, we stopped by Dubs Hut, Wanscale Bothy and Innominate Tarn (the final resting place for Alfred Wainwrights Ashes). Wanscale bothy provides one of the most iconic scenes in the Lake District, with its picture-perfect window framing views over Buttermere and Crummock Water. Just a shame the sun wasn't shining. We took some photos and signed the book before heading back up towards Haystacks then eventually completed the circular back to the car.
