Carl demoing the killing Shift as shown and demoed by Anthony D. Biddle USMC, who wrote Do or Die 1937, and later taught by one of his students, the late John Styers, USMC who wrote the excellent book on Close-Combat, Cold Steel.
Demo's our method of kicking, which draws from not only traditional Japanese Karate & Kempo, but from French Savate. We use very little knee, and SNAP our front and side kicks out, using alot of hip and whipping technique, and designed to be thrown wearing heavy foot wear, i.e. steel toe or hiking boots, not being barefoot on a mat.
