Ball Position Matters a Lot if You Want Solid Contact

Ball position is one of the most overlooked fundamentals in golf — and it has a massive impact on contact, spin, and launch.
In this video, I explain why ball position must change depending on the club you’re using and what happens when it doesn’t.
Why Ball Position Matters
With wedges, the ball is played more centered, so the club is descending into impact. This creates solid contact, compression, and the spin needed for distance control.
With the driver, the ball is played forward so the club is no longer descending but ascending through impact — creating the optimal launch angle and maximizing distance.
When ball position is wrong:
❌ Contact suffers
❌ Spin rates are inconsistent
❌ Launch angles are inefficient
❌ Distance and accuracy disappear
When ball position is correct, the club does what it’s designed to do.
Ball position isn’t optional — it’s fundamental.
Master it, and solid contact becomes repeatable.
