Signal from Asgard presents: The World Serpent
Jormungandr was cast into the ocean as a child by Odin's hand—not for any crime, but as pre-emptive exile. The serpent fell through crushing depths where no light reached, and the sea became his wilderness. He grew and grew, coiling wider until his body encircled all of Midgard. Tail met tooth, and the World Serpent became the living boundary holding land and sea in place—the fence with no posts, the edge drawn in breathing flesh.
At Ragnarok, he will loosened his tail and rise from the depths, crawling. The circle will break and Midgard will be devoured by sea and air filled with his poison. For the world stands when the circle remains, and it falls when the circle breaks.

LYRICS:
Thrown to black where stone's forget
Screaming depths and crushing press
No shore to bite, no sky to breathe
Sea became his wilderness
Tail to tooth, his coil is made
Midgard bound within his braid
He crushed no shore, he held it fast
Ring of scale around the cast
Hail the serpent round the land
Hail the wyrm with fate in hand
Hail the doom beneath the waves
Hail the circle none can save
Above him sail the fragile days
Ships of oak and human breath
Below him churn the ancient dark
Where endings wait without a death
He knows the men who sail above
He hears the storms that rage and spin
His patience older than the kings
He sleeps with one eye watching still
Ages grind like tidal pull
Time coils tighter, patient, full
He feels the storm before it wakes
Counts the years in silent breaks
Hail the serpent round the land
Hail the wyrm with fate in hand
Hail the doom beneath the waves
Hail the circle none can save
What he holds by coiling tight
Is the world of hearth and light
When sailors fear the farthest wave
It's his silence—deep and grave
He's not evil in the deep
Nor mercy carved in skyward sweep
He's the edge the gods denied
They cast him out, he grew worldwide
He's the ring about your home
Midgard rides his endless roam
He's the seam that keeps the cloth
Edge and oath in scaled growth
Jormungandr, Ring of world
Jormungandr, Ocean curled
Midgard stands while coils remain
Midgard ends when they break
Tail in mouth, the circle sealed
Keeper of the edge revealed
When serpent breaks his coiling ring
Sea and salt claim everything
Sea and land, Land and life
He holds them within his might
Name him serpent, Name him doom
He is what you cannot fight
Hail the ring. Hail the deep
Hail the edge we dare not leap
Hail the serpent round the land
Hail the wyrm with fate in hand
Hail the doom beneath the waves
Hail the circle none can save
