2025 1115 Shunde, GuangDong's Culinary Capital

On our first full day in GuangZhou, we took the subway to explore the township of Shunde.

This required four changes of subway lines but took just about 40 minutes to arrive at the Daliang ZhongLou station.

First off, was to admire one of GuangDong's great Chinese formal Gardens, QingHui Garden. We arrived at about opening time. However, the queue was piling up with mainly local tourists. However, as seniors, we were privileged to go directly to the ticketing counter to obtain a FREE entry pass.

I had wished to spend more time, in contemplation, but the huge crowd made it distracting.

So, we headed to explore their famous Pedestrian-only Food Street of JinBang. We entered from the South Gate and emerged at the northern Jinbang Memorial Archway (Golden Archway).

The vast array of culinary offerings was too much to handle with just one visit!

A short distance away, nestled between QingHui Garden and JinBang Street is their main shopping district with a wide array to satisfy any shoppers' dream buys ......... all at rather reasonable prices.
