Just straight pounding on the bass drum. Forget about subtle slapping techniques taught nowadays. In the 70's, slapping had just been discovered, it was done crudely and without much refinement.
In this bass line, watch out for the sliding octaves to the high G and F... sliding octaves in most disco songs were just a decoration, a fill, but in this song they are part of the bass line itself. The difficulty is 1. sliding to the right position, not below or above the fret (I'm not really good at it) 2. timing is everything, because the arrival of your finger on the note IS the beat, not the attack by the right hand.
