Today I made a pendant for my friend Nick in the USA
Today I talk about some of the Tikanga (Customs) when working with Harakeke (Flax), I am no expert in Tikanga Maori and hope I got it right.
If I didn't please let me know in the comments.
The Karakia (Prayer) mentioned in the video is:
Tēnei matou e īnoi atu kia a e Tāne Mahuta;
Nāu ēnei rawa i poipoia;
Nāu ēnei hua i whakatipu;
Tēnei au he piapono whare tohungatanga raranga;
Hōmai ngā rau o tenei taonga te harakeke.
Basically acknowledges Tane Mahuta (The Maori god of the forest, father to the Harakeke), thanking him for the Harakeke.
The Coal Cracker Bushcraft video mentioned is:
• Make Natural Cordage in Minutes
Anyway I hope you like the video, if you do, comment, like and subscribe please.
Thanks
