Easy Christmas Sugar Cookies | Holiday Recipe

The best sugar cookie recipe. Perfect for Santa!

SUGAR COOKIES
Recipe:
1 cup (2 sticks) butter softened to room temperature
1 1/2 cups of sugar (plus more for rolling them in if not using sprinkles)
1 egg
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract (optional. If not using almond do 1 tsp vanilla)
2 - 2 1/4 cups of flour
sprinkles
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350
2. Cream together butter and sugar.
3. Add in egg and mix till combined
4. Mix in baking powder, salt, vanilla, almond, and 2 cups of flour. If the dough is sticky add the other 1/4 cup of flour.
5. Roll dough into 1-inch circles, dip tops in sprinkles, or roll in sugar. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. This will make about 3 dozen cookies.
6. Gently flatten cookies and bake for 9 min.
7. Let rest for 1 minute on the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
