So love this race! Placed 3rd overall in the Yak-A-Du Kayak Duathlon. Ran first 2M in a 7:56 pace and actually just about even paced it. I actually felt I might have gone out a bit too quick but I was very pleased by not significantly positive pacing the splits (Mile 1- 7:53, Mile 2- 7:58). Then kayaked 2M in 21:38. Just 3-sec behind last year, but I heard the rain may have created more flow resistance so I may have actually gone faster today. The second 2M run was to my surprise, faster than the first 2M run. Ran the second 2M in a 7:50 pace with a negative split (Mile 1- 8:00, Mile 2- 7:40). Finished in 52:05. Just unbelievable 🙏 And big thanks to Bob Clark who so kindly lets me use his awesome streamlined yellow touring kayak for this race 🙏
