Worldschooling our 5 children as we travel - How did we do it?

Dionne and I came to a decision that our children's educational needs are better met in a homeschool environment. In our opinion, the UK school system is a one size fits all and that doesnt work for our diverse family and their preferred learning styles.

We encourage creativity and self expression. No child should be labelled or made to feel inferior or bench marked against another child and their achievements. We want to see our children become confident and independant life long learners following what sparks their own unique interests and abilities.

As we became more and more tired of the daily grind - work, school runs, clubs. We had noticed how everyone, especially our teenage son, seemed to be struggling with their mental health. Social anxiety and the demands of public school. It was heartbreaking see. We decided enough was enough! We made two big decisions:

Sell everything and follow our dream to travel the world
Take the kids out of school and worldschool them as we travel

Check this video out! It will show you how we embraced world schooling. There is no right or wrong way to do it. There is no one magic formula. It's all about your own children, their personalities, interests and what makes them happy. We are quite relaxed in our approach and so far, it seems to be bring the best out in them. Everyday is a learning day and most importantly, it's a fun day!

👨‍👨‍👧‍👧 ABOUT US

We are a family of 7:
The parents: Mum (Dionne) and Dad (Nadeem)
The teenager: Jayden (aged 14)
The twins: Skyla and Kobie (aged 8)
Last but not least: Aniyah and Nakhai (aged 6 & 5)

Our life in the UK was bog standard and relatively uneventful. Bringing our children in the standard way as part of the rigid system we have always been part of. We weren't really spending any quality time together as a family, Just existing. Life was passing us by. Something had to change. The pandemic was the push we needed to make those changes. We decided to sell everything and travel the world whilst homeschooling our children. On 23rd July 2022, we left the UK and have never looked back. We are sharing our experiences with you as we believe that there are many other families who have been feeling similar to how we did but have yet to find the courage to chase their dreams.
