Utilize the guide clip hinge kit to keep your datum value as you remove your cabinet saw fence.
Typically, removing the fence will force you to slide the encoder completely off the scale which causes the readout to lose its position. Fix this with the guide clip hinge kit to allow the release of the encoder so you can take the fence off for larger cuts. Snap the guide clip back into place over the encoder and continue working without having to re-datum the system.
