A pioneer of the 48hrs video challenge was Dumfries and Galloway where in the late 90's and early 2000's film making teams from the US and all around Europe descended on Langholm to compete. When we arrived the competition was fierce and well armed with some very good kit but we had the then very new guerrilla pack of the Canon XL1 and the magical and very new iBook running iMovie thru firewire. We really did conceive this, shoot it and edit it in 48hrs. It's not a brilliant movie but you have to place it in context and you know what - we won !
