Fly fishing for stillwater water trout at Scout Dike Reservoir home of Barnsley Trout Club right here in South Yorkshire. In this short fishing session i netted my biggest stillwater rainbow trout from this fishery venue. Originally i was out to fish vicar buzzers, foam head emergers and a selection red, white and orange pulling buzzer flies. After an hour or so these were not hooking me any trout, but when i switched to a black body, orange headed pulling leech fly it all changed. They do say when the water is dark, muddy or overall coloured try to use a dark trout fly. Ended up netting a brace with 20 minutes, which both were returned to the water. 259.
