The video covers the operation of an Aerators Type B mesh covered glass soda syphon originally manufactured in around 1910. This model of soda syphon used a size of CO2 capsule containing about 5 grams of gas which was physically approximately half the size of currently available consumables, which contain around 8 grams of gas. This size of capsule was last manufactured in around 1970 and is now not available new (although some may be available second hand via Ebay and other sources). We show how, by the re-cutting of the thread in a modern CO2 capsule holder "charger key", combined with using old CO2 capsules from a few decades ago which have been carefully weighed to select those still containing the correct amount of CO2 gas it is possible to use this syphon type. CAUTION/DANGER: The use of this type of antique soda syphon with modern consumable CO2 capsules containing a full fill (8 grams) of gas could lead to over-pressurisation of the body and mechanism which could lead to breakage and the consequent release of glass fragments. As the syphon operates under relatively high pressure any potential user must CAREFULLY examine the glass body and metal head to ensure that no cracks of the glass have occurred or are visible as this could lead to breakage during charging or use.
