I was honored to be asked to do a cooking demo in celebration of World Vegan Day. It was a pretty easy choice when I was thinking about what recipe to share, it had to be the recipe that has truly helped my dad not only stick with but more importantly enjoy a plant-based vegan diet! And that is my easy 3-2-1 bean burger recipe. These burgers have become a favorite for many and have even won over some of the biggest meat eaters I know! When making this recipe at home I will make a double, triple, or even quadruple batch so that I have plenty to freeze for later (covered in the video). I hope you enjoy the cooking demo, and most importantly the burgers! 😁

3-2-1 Burgers
3 cups beans, cooked
2 cups brown rice, cooked
1 cup quick cooking oats
1/4 cup liquid (e.g. veg broth, ketchup, maple syrup)
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1. Mash the beans with a fork or mixing spoon. Add in the remaining ingredients and mix by hand or with a spoon until the mixture can be formed into patties.
2. Cook by baking on a parchment lined baking sheet at 400 F for 25-30 minutes OR grill at ~450 F for 4-5 minutes a side OR air fry at 375 F for 12-15 minutes.
