Having started a global trade war, it was the US president who blinked first.
So we find ourselves now with a global 10% tariff on goods imported to America. And then one massive exception: China. Over this weekend more confusion. It emerged that laptops and other electronics wouldn't be hit by tariffs.
But today the US commerce secretary has announced those goods will face their own tariff regime.
