In today’s fast paced world, many assume that getting enough sleep means they’re well rested, but science tells a different story. This talk explores the biology of sleep, uncovering why disrupted sleep cycles, poor habits, and misunderstood routines can leave us feeling exhausted, even after a full night’s rest. By breaking down the stages of sleep, the role of circadian rhythms, and the factors that affect true recovery, this session aims to help the audience rethink sleep not as a passive act, but as an essential, manageable system for daily function and long term health. Yurika Fiola is a third-semester student at Prasetiya Mulya University who is also active as a content creator in the field of self-development. Born in Pekanbaru, Riau, on September 15, 2006, Yurika has a strong interest in psychology, communication, and the process of personal growth in the digital era. Through the content she creates, Yurika aims to help young people understand themselves more honestly and reflectively. She believes that great change always begins with a small understanding of oneself. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
