How to Bleed FORMULA CURA Hydraulic Brakes

STEP BY STEP:

00:00 Intro

1. 00:05 Remove the wheel.
2. 00:18 Remove the brake pads.
3. 00:27 Spread the pistons with a PLASTIC tyre lever. Do not use metal tyre levers!
4. 00:33 Insert the bleed block.
5. 00:37 Set the brake lever in a horizontal position and tighten.

6. 00:42 Fill both syringes with brake oil. Do not use DOT fluid when bleeding Formula CURA brakes! Use GOLD hydraulic oil or mineral based hydraulic brake oil. Fill the lever end syringe with 5 ml of brake oil. Fill the caliper end syringe with 15 ml of brake oil.
7. 01:08 Remove the caliper bleed port screw.
8. 01:25 Attach caliper end syringe with 15 ml of brake oil. Close the clamp on the caliper end syringe.
9. 01:44 Remove the lever bleed port screw.
10. 01:53 Attach the lever end syringe with 5 ml of brake oil. The clamp is CLOSED.

11. 02:00 Open the clamp on the caliper end syringe.
12. 02:06 While the clamp on the lever end syringe is still CLOSED, press the lever 2-3 times.
13. 02:12 Open the clamp on the lever end syringe.
14. 02:16 Hold both syringes upright. While GENTLY pulling the lever end syringe plunger, slowly push on the caliper end syringe plunger. Always leave some oil in the syringe.
15. 02:39 Now push the oil down by pressing the lever end syringe plunger while gently pulling the caliper end syringe plunger.

16. 02:57 Finish by pushing the oil up from the caliper end to the lever end syringe.
17. 03:13 Close both clamps. Unscrew the caliper end syringe.
18. 03:28 Attach the caliper bleed port screw. Wipe the excessive oil of the caliper.
19. 03:40 Remove the lever end syringe. The clamp should be CLOSED.
20. 03:48 Reinstall the bleed port screw.

21. 03:55 Remove the bleed block.
22. 03:58 Thoroughly clean the caliper with the brake cleaner.
23. 04:15 Reinstall the brake pads. Secure the brake pads.
24. 04:30 Reinstall the wheel.
25. 04:56 Return the lever angle to the regular riding position.

26. 05:01 Reposition the caliper if necessary.
27. 05:17 Last check: Brakes must be able to lock the wheel.
