EVENT DESCRIPTION
Take a visual tour of the work of some of the Mississippi River Valley's earliest explorers and cartographers with the Missouri Historical Society’s Maps Collection. Librarian Emily Jaycox will share the story of Georges-Henri-Victor Collot and his 1796 voyage that is shrouded in mystery and intrigue. Military and Firearms Curator Mike Venso will examine a broad range of maps of the Mississippi River near St. Louis from the city’s earliest days to today.
