Getting the initial spark for this arrangement was relatively difficult. Fishing doesn't usually get music, as it's mostly just a peaceful sport (at least, as far as I'm aware). At first, I just wanted to have a solo guitar, but then I realized I needed something for the melody. I landed on a flute, and was anticipating a simple guitar and flute duet. However, when I sat down to start writing, I realized that it was much too boring. I needed something more: I needed the string orchestra. Nothing crazy, but I thought a swell would do nicely. Deleting what I had already written, I wrote this slower arrangement, with a more introspective feel. I decided on all those pauses as a kind of constant anticipation of getting a catch, or something (ok, to be honest, I just thought it sounded nice). Please enjoy!
