How to Program Spare Keys to BMW G-Series and F-Series (BDC2)?

Using AVDI, Protag, DS Box, ZN095;

The procedure is done on bench, so the BDC2 module has to be removed from the vehicle. But before you start, please, disconnect the car battery.

Remove the BDC2 module and dismantle it to reveal its PCB. Using the ZN095 BDC2 connection cable, connect to several points on the circuit board. All instructions on how to do that are in the user manual. The great thing about this cable is that it is safe and harmless for the module, no soldering or unsoldering of any components is required! All is done with clips and plugs.

Connect the ZN095 and the Distribution Box Set as shown in the user manual and software. You need to have the BN020 license for Spare key programming for G-Series and F-Series BMW vehicles in order to complete the procedure!

Go to the BMW menu of the Abrites software and choose Key & Start Synchronisation, then BDC2.
Start the procedure by saving the car's coding data to your laptop in a designated folder, the software will guide you. Then, load it back to the module.

Once you get to key programming, you have the option to start right away, or check compatibility, do check compatibility first! I remove the battery from the new key, just in case, since it has happened before that the key's battery may hinder programming.

The software will inform you whether the new key is compatible. In case it is, go on to programming and follow the on-screen instructions. Key programming is done in a minute!
When done programming, put the BDC2 module back together and reinstall it in the car.

The final step is crucial: After programming the key on bench, take the new key and put it on the ring aerial of the antenna (right side of the steering column) for about 30 seconds for the car to learn it. And the job is completed successfully!

Keep in mind that you can also program second-hand keys, as long as you reset them first using ABProg. I will be uploading another video with the procedure for renewing them very soon!
