This intuitive routine is designed to help you calm your nervous system through the power of your own touch. My intention is to help people gain a deeper understanding of how powerful self touch can be. This is the first in a series of videos that explore therapeutic self touch. Once we have gone through the whole body, then we will move into deeper myofascial work with yoga/ lacrosse balls, rollers, massage guns, breath work and other tools.
Items you may need: a pillow, bolster, yoga block, blanket, oil that is safe for the face, hair and body, water.
If you’re able, you’ll be sitting in an upright position for a period of time but this practice can also be done lying down. If for any reason you’re not able to perform this type of practice on yourself, then you may seek aid from a loved one to help you through. This practice should be done with a sense of exploration, creativity and intuition.
As a massage therapist I understand that not everyone has access receive treatment but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn to give to yourself and your loved ones around you. I want to create something that people can use to help themselves decrease pain, stress, anxiety, depression while simultaneously increasing mindfulness, awareness, calm, joy and a connection to self.
