This video is about my tour of the Western Front which occurs twice a year and is based on my book Wherever the Firing Line Extends: Ireland and the Western Front. Mine was the first tour which is a bespoke Irish tour of a war in which 270,000 Irish men participated and 45,000 died. It remains the largest conflict that the Irish have ever participated in. During the four day tour, we visit the battlefields of Ypres, the Somme and French Flanders and view the remarkable Irish architectural and military heritage in these parts of Belgium and France.
