Back when Warfare was performing, we considered our music a conduit to reach people with a positive message. Being a band with a faith-based message in the Heavy Metal scene was not always a warm welcome. It always amazed me to see the attitudes change after we took the stage. We could hold our own in the scene, and the conversations AFTER others saw us play were much different from the shunning before. The music broke down barriers, opened doors, planted seeds, and created friendships and bonds we hold to this day.
On the other end, those in the church pews often felt we couldn't possibly be men of faith with the style of music we played. But we were known by our fruits.
This song was a testimony to how we were judged and seen by those in the world. For how we dressed, how loud we played...We were just Sheep in Wolves' clothing. Taking back what we felt the devil had stolen. It's no secret that Metal was always dominated by an evil representation. We always felt the devil didn't "own" any style of Music. He didn't create anything...therefore, the genre was not evil, just misrepresented. Yes, you can ROCK and believe in a higher power.
