Navigating the Uncertainty of a Loved One’s Stroke: Hope with The Villas’ New Stroke Pathway Program

When a loved one experiences a stroke, it may seem like the world comes to a stop. Fear, confusion, and uncertainty take over as you try to navigate what the next steps should be. Will they recover? What care do they need? Where should they go? These questions can be overwhelming, and in those critical moments, having the right guidance is essential.

That’s why The Villas (post-acute care rehab facility in Honolulu) has partnered with The Queen’s Medical Center to create a Stroke Pathway Program designed to ensure stroke patients receive the best care available at the right time to ensure the best outcome for their recovery.

When a stroke patient is admitted to us at The Villas, we are in communication with Queen’s to ensure we have clear documentation of their medical records, we have specific order sets and a specific way that we treat our stroke patients. In some situtuations, after time doing rehab therapy with us (physical, occupational, or speech therapy), they may be ready for more intense rehab. In that case, we will transfer them to a place like the Rehab of the Pacific.
