A young Ugandan-born candidate of Indian origin, Shyam Jay Tanna, has made history after winning the recent parliamentary elections in Tororo Municipality.
The 27-year-old independent candidate secured 5,781 votes, defeating the incumbent Apollo Yeri Ofwono, who garnered 4,829 votes.
