The depth measurement was requested by a viewer..
I also thought it was timely to comment that the table covers the saddle all the time so it's top side is never exposed. I still didn't want to flake this as the surface (on the top side of the saddle) is quite small and so would need all the contact area possible.
I also took the liberty to offer my opinion on the excessively long milling table on top of a narrow saddle, often seen on smaller, modern benchtop milling machines. This is by far the "worst" in this respect, but serve as an example of what I guess is manufacturers trying to stretch their design to the limit to have an edge vs. the competition, claiming a certain range of motion ie. milling envelope. If one looks at an industrial, toolroom milling machine eg. Deckel FP1, 2 or 3 or similar it is apparent that they have a much better ratio between the support ie. saddle/knee and the table size/travel.
PS! I will change to ball screws on this machine, so maybe cover these steps also i na future video
