The eastbound Indian Pacific, with 27 in length is videoed in darkness, as it passes through the uncompleted new Midland station.
Which is also seen in darkness, except for a few security lights.
This Metronet Rail Revitalisation Project of Midland, will see this new station opened early next year.
Videoed Saturday 27 September 2025. 18:35 hrs.
A new set of dual gauge crossover points has recently been set into place, hence the squealy wheels, clearing the surface rust on the rails.
These turnouts now in use for the Indian Pacific passenger train and Transwa railcars, Prospector and AvonLink. (Which becomes the MerredinLink, three days per week.)
Completimg the realignment of trackage, from ARC Train Control (freight trains), onto PTA Train Territory Control. (Suburban train services).
This now gives direct access to the Prospector / Avonlink / MerredinLink platform at the new Midland station. Of which the Indian Pacific also uses, passing by between here and East Perth Terminal.
