ADVENTure: Do You See the Promise? | Conversation #1

Christmas is full of anticipation — the sparkle of hope, the thrill of waiting, the childlike joy that something good is coming. But long before presents were tucked under trees, Promise was at the heart of Christmas. In this first ADVENTure conversation, we look at the season through Mary’s eyes, discovering the Promise she saw — the Promise spoken to her people for generations, and the Promise God spoke directly to her.

Mary didn’t understand the details. The path ahead wasn’t clear. Yet she trusted the God who keeps His Word. And in the center of her story we hear this beautiful blessing: “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His PROMISES to her.” (Luke 1:45 NIV)

That same Promise is still unfolding in our lives today. When we pause long enough to look again, we begin to see God’s quiet faithfulness woven through our families, our stories, and our generations. That’s what this ADVENTure is all about — learning to see what God is doing so clearly that we can help someone else see Him, too.

This week’s ADVENTure activity is simple and joy-filled: we’re encouraging a Saint Nicholas–inspired tradition of giving a small “promise-gift” — a little blessing that whispers, “God keeps His promises… and Christmas is coming.” It’s a meaningful way to help your family live out the Promise, not just read about it.
