If you are visiting Croatia, that is island of Krk and want to taste some traditional dishes, here is our preposition; Konoba (Tavern) called ''Pud Brest'' in the small village called Milohnići, island of Krk. This is a video footage of preparing two dishes and one dessert; Octopus under ''peka'' (under the lid), Pork Tenderloin (''Happy one'' with cheese & prosciutto and ''Drunken one'' with prosciutto, sage and wine) and Pancakes with ''skuta'' (fresh cheese made of cow or sheep milk whey).
How to find Konoba ''Pud Brest''?
All you need to do is to follow the sign to Valbiska ferry port. About one mile before Valbiska you will see the road sign for the village called Milohnići (you have to turn right at the crossroad if you are coming from the direction of Malinska) and there is a guidepost for konoba as well. Just follow the road . . . konoba is in the village center.
It's an old restored traditional house built mostly of stone. In the garden, in the shade of elms and grapevines there are wooden tables with benches but you definitely have to peek inside the konoba as well; ambience is simply excellent. Fireplace, many old items that were once used in everyday life, old photos of the konoba owner family members . . . .
As for the food, whatever you choose, you will not go wrong but you definitely have to try the octopus under the lid (under ''peka'').
