Chenchen is a seven-year-old boy who was born blind and can only perceive light and large shapes. This short documentary follows six days in his life at an inclusive kindergarten in China, where children with disabilities—such as blindness, autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other conditions—learn alongside their peers.
Despite his visual impairment, Chenchen loves drawing, performs well in math with the support of his teachers, and actively participates in classroom life. Filmed before his kindergarten graduation, the film captures everyday moments of learning, friendship, and independence.
In China, around five million children live with disabilities, yet only half attend mainstream schools. Chenchen’s story offers a rare, intimate look at inclusive education and the resilience of children growing up with disabilities.
