Whenever I go prospecting, I take the camper trailer and it's been a very reliable camper. It's long drawbar allows me to carry my quad bike easily, as well as swapping it out for a large storage box and room for 2 spare wheels.
However, after a recent trip away with a friend who was towing a small caravan, I got to thinking about upgrading the camper trailer for something with a bit more 'creature comforts', as well as a something that offered me a quicker set up and pack up option.
So I started looking around for a small caravan and came across this one, a 1986 Coromal Supa Lite. It's 15' long, has a pop top roof, plenty of cupboard and storage space, 2 single beds, 4 burner gas stove with full size oven, 240VAC/gas fridge....and also has an extended drawbar, suitable for carrying my quad bike. These features make it the perfect replacement for the camper trailer.
This video is part 1 in a series documenting the upgrading of the caravan's suspension, tidying up the interior, installing a 12V DC electrical system and finally getting it licensed.
Follow along as we progress through the upgrade and I hope you will stay tuned for the entire series.
