An Updated Method to Dodge and Burn

One of the things we wanted to see with the release of our Infinite Retouch plugin is the ability to have multiple methods of dodge and burn available and improve upon existing ones. This was the idea of Stefan Kohler and our team at Infinite Tools.

When I asked them how they would best describe the update, they said:
We’ve tried to find the best way in Photoshop to change exposure exactly 1 stop without messing up the colors. We wanted to test it through hundreds of photos with different lighting, and various cameras across the well known brands.

Then we’ve tried all existing dodge and burn methods to account for any weaknesses of each as far as saturation goes.
We bridged the gap to formulate a way that brings the most realistic results possible.

Granted it won’t be always be perfect in every scenario, but fortunately it gives you the option of using any method you’d like and with two buttons in case you use multiple methods in the same workflow.
