It Was Meant to Be! Unexpected Vintage Deals & Antique Surprises

A wrong turn leads us to the right place in this video! Union City, Tennessee may not have a full freeway yet, but the path we take leads us to The Gallery Showroom, a consignment mall with a 1964 Studebaker parked auspiciously outside. We encounter a variety of antiques, vintage items, rusted treasures, and odds and ends out front… but what awaits inside?

Upon entering, we’re delighted by well-curated displays of authentic antique furniture, primitives, farm tools, and a diverse collection of pottery, silver, glass, and much more! We're on the lookout for deals, and while the antique dealers seem knowledgeable, we spot a pair of Fostoria American hurricane candles with shades priced much lower than the other pieces of that pattern on the table…only $16 each! We snatch them up and continue our search.

This place offers more than meets the eye. A signed Ray Harm print from Kentucky reminds us of when we sold some of his work back to his family, while 1950s blonde dressers bring back memories of grandma’s house. A genuine RS Prussia red mark pitcher for only $40 sits next to a brightly painted 1920s Czech dresser tray, while early carnival glass and mid-century modern art glass catch our attention. We also find a 1910s churn-style washing machine and a hefty wood oxen yoke that transport us back to farm life, along with a back room filled with genuine antique hardware like casters, drawer pulls, escutcheons, and lamp shades—perfect for restoration projects.

Great prices on a Murano controlled bubble bowl, a Pyrex Hurricandle and a big Haeger Mauve Agate window box spur us on as we look for fun things for ourselves and our vintage collectors! We consider an iron hay trolley (for some reason that’s been on our bucket list), find a cool bull and bear bookend set from a 1980s stockbroker and put an Incolay unicorn jar aside to buy. A really cool carved magazine holder from the 1890s and a Victorian double carved frame for only $35 whet our appetite to see more…and more there is!

A few doors down, Gallery 2 serves as the annex to the Showroom, offering its own unique atmosphere with even more antiques and vintage items! While 1890s Empire-style furniture and brass beds are present, we also encounter colorful 1950s electric store clocks, Fostoria Heirloom glass, and 1950s shortwave radios! A double-faced Royal Doulton character jug stands out as a unique twist on a common collectible, and we also love seeing old painted farm furniture that’s truly aged in a barn, not a spray booth. The highlight? A $75 railroad plate on a half-off shelf—marked down to just $3!

Our wrong turn turned out right, and we’re excited to come back to this place to shop in the future!
