"Wild Area (North)" (Route 6) piano arrangement | Pokémon SwSh

The theme music that plays while you're in the northern section of the Wild Area in Pokemon Sword and Shield, arranged for solo piano. A truncated version also plays on Routes 6 through 9.

How do you make a region based on the UK and Ireland and not have bagpipes? That's why this track exists. In the typical Irish jig style, this lively piece in compound meter greets you rather loudly, as you enter the tougher region of the wild area, to the north-east of Motostoke. Sadly though this is a piano arrangement so there ain't no bagpipes.

I completed the bulk of this sheet back in December 2019, but I didn't want to release it so soon because I was waiting on the release of the soundtrack to get the official name of this track. Sadly that still hasn't happened yet, (why tho?) so I finally decided to just release this anyway.

I was also debating on the time signature to use for the sheet. For the main chunk of the piece, you could interpret it in either 6/4 or 12/8. Originally I used 6/4 because the tempo was exactly 160 1/4 notes/min, so in dotted 1/4s, I'd need to use a non-integer BPM which is weird. But for places like the march, it's very clearly in 12/8 (metric accents fall every dotted qtr), so there were times where the time sig just kept changing between the two. In the end, I just settled on keeping the whole thing in 12/8 for simplicity, and also because, tbh, it doesn't matter which time sig you choose as long as the absolute number of beats is correct. I ignored the BPM issue too, since nobody's gonna be such a perfectionist to play this sheet in exactly the same tempo as the original, right? Sigh. I have no idea why I was worrying so much about this back then LOL.

anyway, enjoy this sheet that's been laying abandoned in my laptop for two years!!
