Chandrabadni Mandir is a powerful Shakti Peeth temple located in the Tehri Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, around 2,270 meters above sea level. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Sati (Shakti). According to mythology, when Lord Shiva was carrying the body of Sati after her death, different body parts fell at different places across India. It is believed that Sati’s torso / torso part fell here on this peak, therefore this place became a major Shakti Peeth.

Chandrabadni is located on a high mountain ridge, and from this point you get an amazing 360° Himalayan view, including Trishul, Chaukhamba, Kedarnath ranges and deep valleys of Garhwal. The temple is surrounded by open peak area and strong wind can be felt here almost all year. It is also a famous sunrise and sunset viewpoint for travellers and photographers.

Every year devotees visit here especially during April / May for the Chandrabadni Mela, which is an important festival of this region. The trek to the temple has stone stairs / steps and the journey is peaceful with mountain atmosphere.
