Biography:
Julian Savory is a well-known conductor, organist and pianist in Hull and East Yorkshire.
He originates from Reading and came to the University of Hull in 1973 to study music. Graduation in 1976 was followed by six years teaching at Cottingham High School. Since then, Julian’s career as a self-employed musician has flourished.
His versatility includes private piano and organ teaching: being a recitalist, composer, accompanist and occasional baritone soloist. He is also known as a choral director- most recently taking on the Hull Bach Choir- and has had various local organist positions.
Since 2003 he has been Organist and Choirmaster at St. Mary’s, Cottingham where he has been running a successful concert series “Saturdays at Six”. Julian is no stranger to Howden Minster, having previously appeared with the Hallgate Camerata.
